John Czekner Jr.
John Czekner Jr. recently retired from the Department of the Army after 33 years of service. He was born and raised in

Allentown, Pennsylvania, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania Military College and a master’s degree from Ohio State University. He worked as a writer and editor in various positions with the department until he was named the Director of Army Publishing in December of 2003. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and later served on the Army Operations Center Crisis Action Team in the Pentagon following the September 11 attack. He is a member of the George C. Marshall Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America and the Lexington Kiwanis Club.
